Nursery Room Leader | £27,000–£32,000 | 40 hours per week
Our client is looking for a proactive, nurturing Nursery Room Leader to help run their welcoming early years setting. You’ll support high-quality practice across baby, toddler, and preschool rooms, and step up for the Manager when required. This is a hands-on senior role focused on leading staff, maintaining excellent care, and ensuring smooth daily operations.
What We’re Looking For
- Level 3 Early Years/Childcare qualification
- Paediatric First Aid
- Experience in an early years setting, ideally in a senior role
- Strong knowledge of EYFS, COEL, SEND, and Ofsted requirements
- Confident with admin duties and digital systems (Famly or similar)
- Excellent communication, leadership, and safeguarding practice
- Commitment to continued professional development

Key Responsibilities
- Support the Nursery Manager and act as Deputy when needed
- Lead delivery of the updated EYFS (Sept 2025) and embed the Characteristics of Effective Learning
- Ensure inclusive practice and effective SEND support
- Maintain a safe, stimulating learning environment
- Manage fees, funding applications, rotas, and risk assessments
- Use Famly for communication, child tracking, and admin
- Mentor staff and uphold high standards of care and practice
- Build strong relationships with children, families, and professionals
- Contribute to planning, observations, assessments, and key-child records
- Follow safeguarding procedures and escalate concerns to the DSL
- Oversee medication, accidents, incidents, and related documentation
- Support events, outings, and day-to-day operational tasks (cleaning, meals, bottles, etc.)
- Engage in ongoing CPD and contribute to the nursery’s learning culture
