Special Needs Assistant Vacancy
Papillon House School, set in extensive woodlands in Tadworth, Surrey, is an independent day school for autistic children and young people.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Special Needs Assistant, working term time only, to join our excellent, friendly staff team.
Whilst being supported by this team, you will work in small classes, supporting teaching staff with delivering learning activities and the recognition of pupil achievement both in class and at activities such as swimming, horse riding, playtime, leisure and lunchtimes. You’ll be responsible for assisting with planning, preparation and delivery of lesson provision, both on a whole-class and individual basis, preparing resources to support learning activities as well as ensuring pupils are supported pastorally. You’ll contribute to evaluating student progress and provide feedback to the class teacher to ensure all students’ learning needs are being met.Job RequirementsIdeally a minimum of 3 GCSEs at C grade or above, including English and MathsTeaching Assistant qualification desirable
Previous experience of class supervision and assisting with lesson provision to achieve positive learning outcomes is desirableGood written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work in tandem with teaching staff
Ability to be empathetic and understanding to the needs of students
