Wellbeing Officer
Hours: 18 hours per week / 38 weeks per year
Salary: £10,531 Actual / £27,370 FTE
Do you want to be the go-to person for student welfare—offering advice, connecting them to the right support, and working closely with the safeguarding team to ensure every student gets the help they need?
We are excited to offer this opportunity for a dedicated and compassionate Wellbeing Officer to join our team.
In this role you will:
• Ensure safeguarding procedures are followed to guarantee the safety of all students at the college.
• Be the college lead for promoting positive mental health and work with external mental health organisations to ensure students have a range of support available to them.
• Meet regularly with students to provide wellbeing support and advice, signposting or referring to other agencies as appropriate.
• Implement support plans and continuously monitor the progress of students identified as ‘cause for concern’.
• Keep records of all student support meetings and provide clear, accurate and timely reports to the Student Support and High Needs Manager.
What you will bring to the role:
• Level 2 English and Maths.
• Level 3 qualification in a mental health or counselling-related field and/or a safeguarding qualification.
• Experience working with young people or adults with mental health difficulties.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to relate to a wide range of individuals.
• Strong knowledge and commitment to equal opportunities.
