An exciting opportunity has arisen at Lawnswood School to join our team as a Librarian. The School Librarian manages and operates a major learning environment used by the whole school community. The School Librarian is responsible for the acquisition, organisation, dissemination and exploitation of resources appropriate to the learning needs of the full age and ability range within that community, and in line with the school’s priorities.

We are looking for someone with enthusiasm, a ‘can do’ mentality, a creative mindset, and the drive and determination to ensure that the students with whom you work can overcome barriers to learning and progress; helping to keep them safe, happy and successful throughout their time with us.
Our school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Appointments will be subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check. If shortlisted, you will be required to disclose relevant information regarding criminal history and an online search will be conducted. This includes only information publicly available online. Employment is conditional on confirmation of the right to work in the UK – either as a UK or Irish citizen, under the EU settlement scheme or having secured any other relevant work visa. Lawnswood School is not registered with the UK Government to offer visa sponsorship. All new Leeds City Council appointments are made subject to the satisfactory completion of a six-month probationary period.
