LOCATION(S): Leeds, Halifax, Bristol, or Edinburgh
HOURS: Full Time

We're seeking a Senior Manager to join our future focused team until the end of 2026. You'll play a pivotal role in ensuring our people, culture, and transformation agenda are underpinned by robust risk management. Through horizon scanning and early identification of emerging risks, you'll help shape future-ready people propositions and strengthen our control environment.
As a Senior People Risk Specialist, you'll:

Provide independent oversight and assurance on the effectiveness of People Risk management across all areas of the organisation.

Develop and implement the risk and control oversight plan, performing deep dives and thematic reviews.

Lead horizon scanning activity to proactively identify emerging people risks, regulatory developments, and societal trends, translating insight into actionable recommendations that strengthen our people propositions and control environment.

Advise and support during regulatory change and business projects, participating in governance forums and providing robust challenge.

Lead on the continuous improvement of People Risk frameworks, policies, and reporting, ensuring alignment with the Group's Enterprise Risk Management Framework (ERMF).

Influence and partner with senior leaders, acting as a credible subject matter expert and cultural ambassador for People Risk.

Champion a data-driven, evidence-based approach to risk management, leveraging insight to drive better outcomes for colleagues and customers.

Technical Risk Expertise and data driven mentality: Proven subject matter expert in operational and people risk frameworks, with strong knowledge of employment law, regulation, and industry standards. Experienced in developing group-level policy, setting risk appetite, and leading thematic reviews using data-driven insights.

Executive Communication: Skilled in crafting clear, concise, and impactful reports and presentations tailored for senior and executive audiences. Experienced in producing Board papers, Risk Committee updates, thematic review summaries, and dashboard-style reporting that distils complex risk insights into compelling narratives to inform strategic decision-making.

Forward-Looking Insight: Skilled in horizon scanning to identify emerging people risks, regulatory shifts, and societal trends. Able to translate external intelligence into strategic recommendations that enhance our people propositions and strengthen the control environment.

Digital Fluency & Innovation: Confident in using AI tools and emerging technologies to drive efficiencies in ways of working, enhance risk insight, and support smarter decision-making across the People Risk agenda.
