Duration and Monitoring of the ProgrammeThis fellowship is for 12 months. The next available post is due to commence in February 2026. The post is based at The Christie NHS Foundation Trust, Wilmslow Road, Manchester M20 4BX. The post-holder will be allocated an Assigned Educational Supervisor for the year. Role Planning Monday Pelvic MDT Ward Round / Endo Theatre / Clinic End Theatre/ Clinic Tuesday PTS MDT/ JC/ Theatre/ Endo Theatre Wednesday Endoscopy / Theatre Clinical Research/Teaching Thursday PTS MDT/Anal MDT Ward Round OPD Admin/Theatre Friday NET MDT Theatre/Surgical Education/Research PTS Business meeting (monthly) Pathology MDT (monthly) Research Meeting (monthly) The post is based on a structured twelve-week (three-month) rotational program designed to provide balanced exposure across the full range of colorectal and pelvic surgery. During each rotation, the fellow will work with all consultants in the department, ensuring comprehensive experience in different operative techniques, approaches, and case complexity. The timetable incorporates a mixture of theatre, endoscopy, and outpatient sessions, with dedicated time for multidisciplinary team (MDT) participation, administration, research, and teaching. The rota includes 2-3 theatre sessions per week, 23 outpatient clinics, alongside regular MDT meetings and departmental teaching commitments. Administrative sessions are allocated to support audit, research, and teaching activities. Flexibility is expected to accommodate service demands, combined cases, and departmental needs. It is also essential to complete the Christie mandatory training. On call CommitmentsThis role does not require participation in the on-call rota.
