Spray Polisher / French Polisher – High-End Bespoke Joinery
Location: Edinburgh
Salary: £15 – £19 per hour (DOE)
Hours: 8:00–16:30 (Mon–Thu), 8:00–15:30 (Fri) + regular overtime
Blueprint Recruitment are recruiting for an experienced Spray Polisher / French Polisher to join our client on a full-time, permanent basis in Edinburgh.
You’ll be working for a well-known, highly respected joinery manufacturer who specialise in high-end refurbishment projects across the city – think bespoke doors, skirtings, architraves, fixtures and furnishings for period and prestige properties.
This is traditional, craft-based work – not high-volume factory spraying. Every piece is finished to match or complement existing fixtures, with careful colour matching so the finished product looks authentic once installed.
You’ll be joining a small, skilled team of craftsmen who take pride in producing top-quality, hand-finished work for high-profile projects.
The Role
As a Spray Polisher / French Polisher, you will:
> Prepare and finish bespoke joinery and furniture components
> Use a range of spraying and hand-finishing techniques, including shellac and traditional polishes
> Achieve consistent glass-smooth finishes on high-end products
> Carry out colour matching so new work ties in seamlessly with existing timber
> Work mainly in a low-volume, batch production environment – focusing on quality, not speed alone
> Contribute to a friendly, flexible workshop team
What We’re Looking For
You should have:
> Proven experience as a Spray Polisher / French Polisher / Wood Finisher
> Strong skills in spraying/coating techniques (including shellac and similar systems)
> Experience finishing bespoke products to a high-gloss or fine furniture finish
> Good eye for detail and colour
> A proactive, solutions-focused approach and the ability to work well in a small team
> Background in a low-volume, high-quality environment is ideal
What’s On Offer
> Permanent Polisher / Sprayer position
> Excellent working conditions in a well-equipped workshop
> £15 – £19 per hour, depending on experience
> Day shift hours with an early finish on Fridays
> Overtime readily available during busy periods
> Opportunity to work on interesting, one-off and high-profile projects rather than repetitive, mass-produced items
