Are you a dynamic and visionary leader with a passion for transforming healthcare services? Lancashire and South Cumbria Integrated Care Board (ICB) is seeking a Managing Director for All Age Continuing Care (AACC) and Individual Patient Activity (IPA) to drive strategic leadership and operational excellence. In this pivotal role, you will lead the transition from turnaround to a sustainable future commissioning model, ensuring the delivery of safe, equitable, and efficient outcomes for service users and their families. The role will be varied and will adapt over time as the ICB develops. However, the postholder is expected to fulfil the following key functions:
Key Deliverables (First 12–18 Months)
• Stabilise operational and financial performance across AACC and IPA
• Deliver and evidence progress against the £60.2m Waste Reduction Programme (WRP) 2025/26 target
• Implement and embed the AACC Future Service Model and Transition Plan governance, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and performance metrics
• Establish the AACC Transitional Steering Group with clear reporting cadence
• Complete design of the AACC Future Service Model
• Deliver a robust Workforce OD and Wellbeing Plan aligned to transition
• Align all AACC performance and financial reporting to ICB and NHSE assurance frameworks
• Produce a formal Transition Exit and Handover Plan ensuring readiness for AACC Future Service Model
This role is a non-clinical one. The post holder will be expected to work alongside clinical leaders in the AACC team as well as clinical Executive colleagues , to shape a safe, compliant and efficient service.
Lancashire and South CumbriaICB is a complex organisation serving a population of over 1.8 million people.Its role is to improve population health and healthcare by planning and commissioning services, managing budgets, and working with local providers to achieve better health outcomes, reduce inequalities, and ensure value for money. Delivering efficient and effective All Age Continuing Care for the residents of Lancashire and South Cumbria is a fundamental part of achieving those aims.
The AACC team is a large group of clinical and managerial staff who have significant experience in delivering care to our residents and are eager to work with the new MD to transform the service for the future.
