About the Job

We have exciting opportunities for compassionate, motivated, and experienced child protection social workers to join Lincolnshire as we continue to develop the County’s new Multi-Agency Child Protection Team (MACPT).

Having been part of the national Pathfinder for the Families First Partnership Programme, Lincolnshire is at the forefront of transforming child protection practice. We are expanding our service and inviting you to join us at a pivotal moment, help us embed and evolve the Lead Child Protection Practitioner role and shape the MACPT’s identity. We’ve laid strong foundations during our Pathfinder experience, and now is the perfect time to become part of the next phase of the journey.

Our small, dedicated team (previously Child Protection Chairs), have already introduced innovative ways of working and developed the LCPP role into one that is recognised across the safeguarding partnership as central to driving high-quality child protection planning, and ensuring consistent, collaborative decision-making for children and families.

You’ll work alongside highly skilled and experienced Practice Supervisors who bring deep expertise and a commitment to excellence. Together, you’ll maintain and strengthen locality relationships, ensuring that social workers and their supervisors have the peer support, clarity, and confidence they need to deliver outstanding practice. This collaborative approach means you’ll play a key role in creating the conditions where frontline family help teams can thrive and make a real difference for children and families.

You won’t just be joining a team, you’ll be driving forward a model of child protection practice that is purposeful, partnership-driven, and effective for families.

We have multiple vacancies for Lead Child Protection Practitioners (LCPPs) across the county and an additional Team Manager role as we grow the service. MACPT sits within Lincolnshire’s Quality and Standards Service, alongside the Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO) and Independent Reviewing Officers (IROs). Together, we form one integrated service focused on quality assurance, partnership working, and improving outcomes for children.

As a Lead Child protection Practitioner you will:

Lead multi-agency decision-making in child protection cases.
Chair strategy discussions and child protection conferences.
Work closely with Practice Supervisors and locality teams to ensure consistency and clarity in safeguarding practice.
Provide independent oversight and quality assurance of child protection planning.
Build strong relationships with families, ensuring transparency and support throughout the process.
About You

A Social Work qualification is essential for all these posts.
You will have:

At least 5 years post-qualifying experience working with children and families.
Recent experience in child protection practice and ideally some supervisory experience.
A proven track record of working creatively to engage children and young people in decision-making and promoting their voices.
Strong skills in partnership working and the ability to influence practice across agencies.
Our offer

We are offering a competitive salary of £47,181 -£52413 along with an extensive benefits package; details of which can be found in rewards and benefits brochure. Our current staff recommend the many opportunities for professional support and development, the passion for safeguarding across the service and the commitment to relationship based practice.

Closing date: 7th December 2025 Interviews are planned for 16th, 17th 18th and 19th December 2025
