Site based Quantity Surveyor Required

We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our team on-site for two major substation build and expansion projects based on the Isle of Skye. This is a long-term opportunity with a two-year contract, offering stability and the chance to work on significant infrastructure developments.

Job Title: Site-Based Quantity Surveyor
Location: Isle of Skye, Scotland
Contract Length: 2 Years
Day Rate: £500 – £525 per day (can be paid via Construction Industry Scheme)
Working Pattern: Monday – Friday, 8 hours per day

Key Responsibilities:

- Manage all commercial and contractual aspects of two substation projects.
- Administer and manage contracts under NEC3, ensuring compliance and best practice.
- Oversee change management, variations, and cost control throughout project delivery.
- Prepare and manage monthly valuations, payment applications, and cost forecasting.
- Support procurement activities and subcontractor management.
- Provide commercial advice to the project team and ensure risks/opportunities are effectively managed.
- Work closely with site management and project stakeholders to deliver within budget and timescales.

Requirements:

- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor on major civil, M&E, or energy/infrastructure projects.
- Strong working knowledge of NEC3 contracts.
- Previous experience in substation projects or similar power/energy infrastructure (highly desirable).
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and reporting skills.
- Ability to work site-based on the Isle of Skye, Monday to Friday.
