Summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic and flexible Upper GI 2 WW pathway/ Endoscopy pre-assessment Nurse to join our well established multidisciplinary team. This is a newly created post to support our Lead Cancer Gastroenterologist with the Upper GI 2 week wait referrals and support the Endoscopy nurses with the pre assessment of patients undergoing Endoscopic procedures using defined parameters. Please note this is an onsite Monday to Friday post
The Upper GI STT/Pre Assessment Nurse will work alongside the Upper GI Lead Consultant and clinical nurse manager to:
A: Support the Straight to Test (STT) pathway for patients referred on a suspected 2WW Upper GI cancer pathway. The post will help improve the timed pathway, patient experience and support earlier diagnosis and help ensure care is delivered consistently in a timely manner.
B: Pre-Assess patients prior to outpatient Endoscopic procedures using a range of methods i.e. telephone assessment, face to face assessment.
