Job Title: Domestic Assistant
Location: Westbourne School, Sutton in Ashfield, NG17 2EL
Hours: 15 hours per week | Monday - Friday | 3:30pm – 6:30pm
Salary: £8,864.25 per annum (£13.25 per hour)
Contract: Permanent | Term Time Only
Start: December 2025

As part of our continued growth, we now have a fantastic opportunity for a Domestic Assistant to join our close-knit team at Westbourne School, part of Acorn Education.

About the Role

As a Domestic Assistant in our SEN school, you’ll play a vital part in creating a clean, safe, and welcoming environment where pupils can learn, grow, and feel at ease. Your work supports the wellbeing of our young people every single day—and helps ensure our school remains a nurturing space for everyone.

You’ll take pride in keeping classrooms, communal areas, and facilities spotless, working with care and attention to detail to maintain the highest standards of hygiene across the school.

What You’ll Do

Maintain a clean, hygienic, and inviting school environment
Use cleaning equipment and products safely and responsibly
Support the team with larger or shared cleaning tasks when needed
Report any issues, hazards, or concerns promptly
Uphold health and safety and safeguarding expectations at all times
Contribute to a positive, supportive school community
What You’ll Bring

Experience in domestic or cleaning duties

About Us

Westbourne School caters for pupils aged 11-18 and we are growing to 85 pupils across two sites. You will be responsible for planning and delivering various subjects across the curriculum. Differentiation and individualised learning strategies are vital skills required to meet the needs of all our pupils who will have had varying degrees of success in their educational lives.
