A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Lead Veterinary Surgeon to join a progressive and supportive practice in Leicestershire. The role offers the chance to lead and mentor a skilled team of vets at the Whetstone branch, with the support of a Practice Manager and Clinical Director, while maintaining a strong clinical focus and 0.5 days per week for administrative duties.
The practice is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, including in-house CT, dental suites with X-ray, video endoscopy, ASIF kits, TPLO/TTA/Tightrope, arthroscopy, and advanced ophthalmology equipment.
As part of a collaborative team, there are monthly clinical meetings to discuss cases, share knowledge, and support professional development, including encouragement for certificate studies in areas of interest. Staff well-being is a priority, with personalized rotas, mental health support, counselling services, stress management workshops, and wellness events to ensure a healthy work-life balance.
The ideal candidate will be RCVS registered with at least 5 years of general practice experience, a passion for team development, and confidence performing routine surgeries, abdominal ultrasound, TFAST/AFAST imaging, exploratory laparotomies, and routine dental procedures, with line management experience desirable but not essential.
The Rota
• Full time position
• 4-5 days per week
• 1:4 Saturdays
• No OOH!
• Bank holiday on a rota – extra pay
