Provide phlebotomy Under take various health checks - to include NHS Health Checks, Pre-Diabetes Learning Disability, SMI etc Carry out baseline observations such as pulse oximetry, blood pressure, height, weight, BMI, temperature, urinalysis etc Chronic disease management, including diabetic foot checks Administer vaccines flu, pneumococcal, shingles, B12 Carry out ear irrigation Undertake wound care & dressings Suture/Staple removal Carry out ECG testing Minor operation set up/assistance Assist in the call and recall systems in relation to: chronic disease management; immunisation, cervical cytology screening etc Deliver opportunistic health promotion where appropriate Domiciliary service to patients Support the Practice with health promotion programmes Act as a chaperone when required Assist in audits as required Stock checks & ensuring adequate supply of materials Record fridge temperatures and report any issues immediately Ensure all clinical rooms are adequately stocked and prepared for each session Carry out relevant clerical duties as required in relation to the role Organise own workload Personally and accurately record all healthcare activity within the patients clinical records Report all matters pertaining to patient care changes in condition/circumstances to a relevant member of the clinic team as a matter of priority Communicate courteously and effectively with patients, relatives and carers Work in a flexible manner to meet the needs of the service and as directed by the GP Partners & Practice Manager Be aware of statutory national requirements relevant to the job function (e.g. Health and Safety at Work Act) Ensure working areas are kept neat and tidy This job description is not meant to be exhaustive but is merely indicative of the main duties involved, however the post holder may at times be required to carry out other duties not listed Work safely at all times in accordance with Legislative requirements and Practice Policy and Procedures
