We seek to hire an Assistant Psychologist to work in support of the ward psychologist in undertaking psychological tasks, including helping to conduct psychometric assessments, functional analyses & positive behavioural support plans. This role will also include co-planning and facilitating group psychological therapy, obtaining and reporting outcome measures, including Goals-Based Outcomes, and maintaining databases to facilitate clinical and service evaluation. The post holder will also participate in service audit and research activities.

On the unit you will be part of a multi-disciplinary team, working closely with them to provide psychological assessment and interventions for adolescents who present with a range of severe and complex mental health problems such as eating disorders, obsessive compulsive disorder, psychotic and affective disorders and neuropsychiatric conditions.

Flexible working:

As one of the few Trusts in London we are proud to offer flexible working as part of our new ways of working, and we are happy to talk flexible working at the interview stage. In this role you will mostly be expected to work Monday to Friday in the time frames from 9 to 5, but most staff are requested to work later (also starting later) one per week but this can be negotiated.


About Us:
You would be joining a committed and highly experienced multi-disciplinary team, with a focus on continuing service improvement and supporting the young people to reach their potential. There is a strong emphasis on supporting the parents and carers and close liaison with the community teams working with each young person. There is also a school on site, which offers opportunities for close collaboration.



· To assist the ward psychologist in the delivery of a specialist applied psychology service within the PICU inpatient CAMHS Unit.

· To provide clinical work as required by the service, under the direct guidance, close clinical and professional supervision of the ward psychologist.

· To assist in clinically related administration, conduct of audits, collection of statistics, development of audit and/or research projects, teaching and project work.
