Are you passionate about making a positive and lasting difference for the people of Hull?
Are you looking for a opportunity as an Operational Manager in Adult Social Care? Following creation of a new post we are looking for an exceptional individual to lead our Occupational Therapy, Moving and Handling, and Blue Badge services. We have a range of opportunities for professional development and progression of your Leadership Skills and your clinical expertise, as well as the ability to be involved with research through the Curiosity Partnership.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated person to manage and lead a team to deliver the key strategic aims of the organisation and fundamental changes in policy. The aim of the team is to provide prevention services, and support to those who need it most whilst enabling people to remain as independent as possible. If you are an experienced Leader, with an expert level of knowledge across at least 2 of the 6 key areas then you may be the person we are looking for.
• Occupational Therapy• Housing Adaptations • Reablement/ Rehabilitation • Moving and Handling • Community Equipment Services• Service Management
The role is to oversee the day to day running of services, supporting other staff by creating the right conditions for them to be able to work to their maximum potential, alongside x 4 practice lead managers.
It is an exciting time to join us with an ongoing review of service delivery and proactive approach to exploring new ways of working to ensure the service is fit to meet current and future demand. This includes the setting up of a new Moving and Handling Project/Team which has previously been an integrated Occupational Therapy function. There will be an opportunity to have a strong voice, and leading role alongside the Principal Occupational Therapist and Senior Leadership Team to shape the future of the service.
Key aspects of the functions of these teams are the delivery of statutory duties under the Care Act 2014, equipment provision in collaboration with the Integrated Care Board through our integrated community equipment service, and delivery of statutory assessments for adaptations under the Housing Grant, Construction and Regeneration Act 1996.
The role will support a trauma informed approach within the team and rights based inclusive practice. To support use of solution focussed conversations, and goal setting with people as part of a proportionate assessment process. As a valued leader, you will be providing supervision and oversight to registered and unregistered staff. You will contribute and lead on policy and process for your key areas, and ensure OT is embedded within the wider Social Care offer. This post supports staff who are integrated within our Prevention Services including Active Recovery, See and Solve, Home Independence Team (OT housing adaptations/rehousing) and within our East and West Locality Services for people in receipt of long term care and support.
For an informal discussion about the role, please contact Vicky Goldsbrough on 01482 612707.
Please ensure that your application demonstrates how you meet the essential criteria against the person specification as listed in the job description.
