About the Role
Barnet Council is seeking an experienced Adult Social Worker (Grade I) to join the Adult MASH (Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub) team as an Enquiry Officer. This is a temporary assignment covering a vacancy for 12 weeks, with the potential for extension.
You will play a key role in safeguarding adults at risk, conducting enquiries, and ensuring compliance with statutory duties under the Care Act 2014 and Mental Capacity Act 2005.
Key Responsibilities
Undertake safeguarding enquiries under Care Act Section 42.
Carry out risk assessments and develop appropriate safeguarding plans.
Conduct home visits to adults at risk, ensuring their safety and wellbeing.
Work collaboratively with multi-agency partners to deliver effective safeguarding outcomes.
Apply professional judgement and knowledge of legislation to complex cases.
Requirements
Qualified Social Worker with 4+ years’ post-qualification experience.
Strong knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and Care Act 2014.
Proven experience working within a Safeguarding team.
Ability to manage complex caseloads and make sound professional decisions.
Enhanced DBS and full compliance documentation required.
