Summary
Overview:
We are a battery company seeking a reliable and hands-on Warehouse Supervisor to oversee daily warehouse operations. This role includes managing staff, ensuring accurate inventory control, and safely handling heavy batteries using forklifts and pump trucks, with a strong focus on health and safety compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise daily warehouse activities including receiving, storing, picking, packing, and dispatching batteries.
Lead, train, and support warehouse staff while promoting safe and efficient working practices.
Safely handle and move heavy batteries using forklift trucks and pump trucks.
Ensure full compliance with health & safety regulations, including proper manual handling, PPE use, and safe operation of equipment.
Conduct regular safety checks, risk assessments, and toolbox talks when needed.
Maintain accurate inventory through stock checks and proper documentation.
Keep the warehouse clean, organised, and compliant with all operational and safety standards.
Coordinate with logistics and sales teams to ensure timely order fulfilment.
Identify process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce operational risks.
Requirements:
Previous warehouse or logistics supervision experience (battery or industrial products preferred).
Strong knowledge of health & safety procedures, especially manual handling and handling of hazardous goods.
Physically fit and able to safely lift and move heavy batteries.
Able to operate:
Forklift truck (certification preferred)
Pump truck / pallet truck
Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
Familiarity with warehouse management or inventory systems.
Attention to detail and a strong commitment to safe working practices.
