Summary
To help to enhance understanding of the importance of accurate quality data within the Trust. To provide specialist knowledge regarding data quality procedures where necessary and assist in the training of PAS end user. To ensure all patient admissions/transfers and discharges are recorded on PAS accurately and timely, under the correct specialty and Consultant by accessing other Trust patient administration systems to include MSS (Patient First) Teletracking, e-discharge and Clinical Web Portal liaising with Ward Staff/Capacity Team/Bereavement Team/Mortuary Team. To support the accuracy of bed allocation within the Teletracking system, liaising with wards and Capacity team. To produce routine data quality reports and summary information which require specialist knowledge of systems and frequent prolonged concentration, to be distributed to The Data Quality Manager and PAS end users. Complete Audits in relation to Teletracking system. The postholder will be required to ensure E-discharges are completed prior to discharge on systems, liaising with wards if and when required. To participate in data quality review meetings and follow up on specific data quality issues involving investigating and proposing solutions of complex information. To liaise with front line staff via telephone, e-mail or MS Teams to ensure data quality issues are actioned promptly and effectively, progress chasing as required. To assist in training/educating staff to use the PAS System in order to maintain high quality data standards. Specialist Knowledge in the use of SCR (Summary Care Records) To ensure all inpatients have correct patient identification SK (skinny patient files) numbers created and are tracked accurately throughout the inpatient journey To work with the Data Quality Team to ensure key data quality issues are incorporated into training sessions. Support the Data Quality Manager in ensuring that accurate, complete and timely data pertaining to the Trusts Services is collected and added to the PAS database. To maintain the strictest confidentiality of all coded and other patient information in line with the requirements of the Data Protection Act. To provide and receive complex and contentious information with system users/clinicians/staff concerned regarding data quality problems and to overcome them tactfully and persuasively, using motivational, training, empathic and reassuring skills where there may be problems/barriers to understanding e.g. in revising clinicians data input. To respond to ad hoc enquires concerning data quality as required by the Data Quality Manager, Wards, Learning from Deaths Team, EPMA Team, Bereavement Team, Capacity and The Data Quality Team. Contributing to the overall success/support of the Health Information Service Working within agreed Service Level Agreements you will be trained in PAS, MSS (System First) Clinical Web Portal, Summary Care Record and Teletracking, e-discharge, Systm One and other functionality as required to deliver a professional/expert service. To carry out any other duties consistent with the grade of the post, as required by the Data Quality Manager. To cover in the absence of colleagues as required.
