More detail about the role The Nursing Associate will work as part of a team, delivering health and social care that focus on the direct needs of service users. They will work autonomously within the clearly defined boundaries of their Nursing Associate role and carry out specific clinical tasks and responsibilities that may cross professional demarcations of care and therapy The Heavitree Day Surgery Unit is located on 2 levels. The lower floor (Lower Ground) comprises of the Reception area, 5 Single Rooms, 5 bay Ward, Theatre 1 and Recovery and pain suite. The upper floor (Ground) comprises Theatres 2&3 and Recovery. The Unit is open 07:30-1900-potential open until 8PM in future with both morning and afternoon theatre lists covering a wide range of specialities under general, regional and local anaesthesia. Specialities are: General Surgery including Upper GI, Colorectal and Vascular, Gynaecology, ENT adults/paeds, Urology including laser stone fragmentation procedures, Orthopaedics, Plastics, Oral and Pain Management. No budgetary control but responsible for the effective and appropriate use of resources. The post holder is required to deal effectively with staff of all levels throughout the Trust as and when they encounter on a day to day basis. In addition the post holder will deal with the wider healthcare community, external organisations and the public. This will include verbal, written and electronic media. Working Pattern: Mon-Fri 07:30-19:00 plan in progress to keep the unit open until 8pm.
