✨ Job Summary
The Cleaning Staff is responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, and orderly environment for all employees, visitors, and customers. The ideal candidate is diligent, reliable, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently to ensure all assigned areas meet the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
Key Responsibilities
* Routine Cleaning: Perform routine cleaning tasks, including dusting, sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and vacuuming floors, carpets, and rugs in offices, common areas, and hallways.
* Restroom Sanitation: Clean and sanitize restrooms thoroughly, including toilets, urinals, sinks, counters, mirrors, and replenishing supplies (soap, toilet paper, paper towels).
* Waste Management: Empty all trash receptacles, recycling bins, and dispose of waste following established procedures.
* Surface Maintenance: Wipe down and sanitize surfaces, including desks, tables, doorknobs, light switches, and shared equipment.
* Window Cleaning: Clean interior windows, glass partitions, and polished surfaces.
* Special Cleaning: Perform deep cleaning tasks periodically, such as buffing floors, cleaning vents, or shampooing carpets, as required.
* Supply Management: Monitor and maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and report low stock to the supervisor.
* Safety & Security: Follow all health and safety regulations. Secure premises when necessary (e.g., locking doors and windows) and report any maintenance issues or safety hazards immediately.
* Equipment Care: Operate and maintain cleaning equipment (e.g., vacuums, floor scrubbers) correctly and safely.
Qualifications
Required:
* Experience: Previous experience in custodial, janitorial, or professional cleaning work is preferred but not always required (willingness to train entry-level candidates).
* Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and lift up to 25 pounds regularly throughout the shift.
* Work Ethic: Strong sense of responsibility, punctuality, and a proactive work attitude.
* Knowledge: Basic understanding of cleaning chemicals and supplies, and their safe and appropriate use (e.g., proper dilution).
Preferred:
* High School Diploma or equivalent.
* Familiarity with operating commercial cleaning equipment.
* Driving licence
Working Conditions
* The work is typically performed indoors in a variety of settings (office, warehouse, retail, domestic, etc.).
* Requires standing and moving for extended periods.
* Exposure to cleaning chemicals, dust, and varying temperatures.
* Must be able to work flexible hours, which may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, or holidays, depending on the facility's needs.
