General Paediatrics
This fellow job has come up to cover for training post vacancies
The posts will be for a period of 4 months with further extension depending upon the clinical performance
Who is the Junior fellowship suitable for?
Paediatric Trainee’s who want to further sub-specialty experience
Foundation trainee’s-FY3 equivalent who are keen to pursue career in Paediatrics
Trainee’s who are out of programme and keen to further their paediatric sub-speciality experience before applying for the sub-speciality GRID
Overseas paediatric trainees

The General paediatric firm has 10 FTE general paediatric consultants, 3 GPVTS trainee’s (SHO equivalent), FY1 and 2 general paediatric trainee’s(ST1) with one general paediatric registrar.
The post holder will have responsibility for ward management of general paediatric in-patients; liaison with the paediatric subspecialities and paediatric A&E and liaising with Hospital and Community Multidisciplinary Teams. The appointee will also review and discuss general paediatric referrals from other firms as well as discuss referrals from GP’s.
On-call commitment includes covering paediatric wards and paediatric A&E as per on- rota. You will also be have ample oppurtunities to attend general and speciality paediatric clinics as well as cover various paediatric subspeciality patients.

Active participation in development of evidence based clinical guidelines
Participation in audit project of his/her choice and ongoing research project
Further teaching experience with an emphasis on skills required for teaching SHOs, medical students and other registrar’s
Participate in weekly radiology and psychosocial meeting.
Participate in weekly teaching. (please refer to generic teaching activities below)
