About the Role
Monmouthshire County Council is seeking a Registered Social Worker to join its friendly and supportive Children’s Services team. This temporary role will provide essential cover during a colleague’s authorised absence, ensuring continuity of service and safeguarding outcomes for children and families.
Key Responsibilities
Support with quality assurance of documents including safety plans, assessments, and reports.
Attend meetings such as Child Protection (CP) conferences to provide guidance and support to less experienced social workers.
Manage and oversee a small caseload of complex cases during the absence period.
Provide expertise in the Court arena and Child Protection processes.
Be office-based at least 3 days per week to support duty tasks and act as a resource for the wider team.
Candidate Profile
We are looking for a qualified and experienced social worker who can demonstrate:
Strong knowledge and experience in Child Protection and Court proceedings.
Ability to manage complex cases with professionalism and empathy.
Excellent communication and mentoring skills to support colleagues.
Commitment to delivering high-quality, child-centred social work practice.
Flexibility to work office-based a minimum of 3 days per week.
