Support Worker – Full-Time, Permanent

Location: Redditch

Salary: £12.21 per hour (37.5 hours per week, contracted)

Social Care & Education is seeking a dedicated, fun, and compassionate Support Worker to provide 1:1 support to a vibrant young adult. This is a permanent position that offers the opportunity to become part of a supportive and inclusive team that values enthusiasm, creativity, and a positive approach. The primary focus of this role is to support and engage the service user in daily activities while promoting independence, well-being, and personal growth.

Responsibilities:

Assist with daily living tasks, including meal preparation, cooking, cleaning, laundry, and household management, to encourage self-sufficiency.
Foster a supportive environment that enables the individual to develop essential life skills and make independent choices.
Plan and participate in community outings and recreational activities to promote social engagement.
Build a trusting and positive relationship with the service user, ensuring effective communication with the wider support team.
Administer medication in line with the service user's care plan and ensure all health and safety protocols are followed.
Support the service user in attending appointments and engaging with healthcare professionals as required.
Provide guidance and assistance in managing personal finances, helping to develop budgeting and money management skills.
Requirements:

Enthusiastic about developing new skills and making a positive impact in the lives of others.
Patient, empathetic, and capable of handling challenging situations calmly and professionally.
Experience working with individuals who have autism, learning disabilities, and challenging behaviour.
Willingness to work varied shift patterns, including early shifts, late shifts, day shifts, and sleep-ins.
Ability to work as part of a team while also taking initiative when required.
