Overview of the role:
Role Overview
As a Service Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that all cleaning operations are delivered efficiently, professionally, and in line with contract specifications. You'll supervise site teams, maintain client relationships, manage quality control, and ensure compliance with health and safety standards. Your leadership and coordination skills will drive the day-to-day success of our service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Supervision
Manage Site Managers, Supervisors, Team Leaders, and Cleaning Operatives across your portfolio
Provide training, coaching, and performance feedback to direct reports
Conduct regular team briefings and promote a positive, productive work environment
Handle staffing needs, including recruitment, rotas, and disciplinary matters in collaboration with HR
Operational Oversight
Coordinate cleaning schedules and task allocation based on client requirements
Ensure compliance with contract specifications and company procedures
Conduct site visits and attend client meetings to ensure smooth operations
Respond promptly to service requests and operational issues
Client Relationship Management
Serve as the main point of contact for assigned clients
Resolve complaints professionally and ensure customer satisfaction
Collaborate with clients to adapt service levels and identify improvement opportunities
Provide regular service updates and feedback to clients
Quality & Compliance
Conduct quality audits and implement improvements as needed
Monitor adherence to cleaning standards and health and safety policies
Maintain records of site checks, incidents, and staff performance
Support safe chemical handling and equipment use in accordance with COSHH guidelines
Administration & Reporting
Maintain accurate records of staff hours, inventories, and incidents
Submit reports on area performance, site developments, and service challenges
Oversee inventory control and ordering for assigned contracts
Ensure all sites meet compliance standards in documentation and operations
Requirements
Proven experience in a service or operations management role, preferably in commercial cleaning or facilities
Strong leadership and team management skills
Excellent communication and client relationship abilities
Good knowledge of health & safety and cleaning best practices
Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and scheduling systems
Full UK driving licence (preferred)
