We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our Licensing Team on a part time basis.
This post is designated as “agile”, allowing for a mix of home working and office-based working and the team has a base at the Housing Advice Centre, Church Street, Ebbw Vale.
As part of a small and high performing Licensing Team, the Licensing Officer will provide administration and enforcement support, to enable the proper service delivery of the Licensing functions. As such, you will be responsible for processing routine applications for various licences, renewals, registrations and permits, dealing with customers, businesses, elected Councillors and partner agencies.
Ideally, you will have experience in administering licensing applications in areas such as the Licensing Act 2003, Gambling Act 2005, hackney carriage and private hire licences, scrap metal, street trading and other general areas of licensing responsibility. You will also provide enforcement support, undertaking visits and interventions as appropriate, investigating complaints and providing business advice.
The Licensing Officer plays an important role working with partner agencies including Event Safety Advisory Groups, “Responsible Authorities” and attending Licensing Committees.
Access to a vehicle for work purposes is a requirement of the role.
