We are seeking to recruit a Lead Administrator to provide high-level administrative support to the Oxford Trauma and Emergency Care research team, providing support to a large team of 60+ individuals, including academic and research staff, ensuring smooth operations and improving processes for greater efficiency. You will work independently to manage, guide and supervise junior staff, and take initiative in resolving complex administrative matters. You will take the lead on communications activities, (including social media and website updates), financial reporting and working with members of the public.
In this role, you will manage and coordinate daily administrative operations, within the Oxford Trauma and Emergency Care group, consisting of senior research and professional staff and clinical trial teams, using your initiative to resolve problems and adapt to changing priorities across a range of tasks. You will provide advice and guidance to colleagues and key stakeholders in relation to administrative processes and procedures in line with University regulations, policies and procedures. You will assist with setting standards for the delivery of the administrative service, monitoring effectiveness and making improvements to operational effectiveness and the quality of the service provision. You will also support budget preparation and financial monitoring, providing administrative oversight of relevant budgets and ensuring compliance with financial procedures and deadlines.
You must be educated to degree level or have equivalent experience. You must have strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage a complex and dynamic workload independently, reprioritising and delegating as needed. You must have proven experience of managing administrative processes and resolving issues with minimal supervision. You must have clear and confident communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain policies and procedures effectively.
You should ideally have experience of publication, editorial support and knowledge of travel and financial systems used in academic settings (e.g. Key Travel, Oracle Financials)
