Crynodeb

Purpose of Role:

The post holder will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and sanitation on site in order to ensure compliance with food safety regulations and industry standards, ensuring that all areas on site are clean, hygienic and tidy.

Job Profile:

Key Responsibilities
• Perform daily and deep cleaning of production zones as required and as directed by the Shift Team Leader.
• Clean and sanitise food processing areas following strict food safety protocols (e.g., HACCP, GMP).
• Clean designated areas using the appropriate cleaning agents and equipment.
• Perform daily and deep cleaning of toilets, kitchens, and communal areas as directed by the Shift Team Leader.
• Manage cleaning supplies and equipment efficiently, ensuring they are stored correctly after use across the factory.
• Communicate effectively with Shift Team Leaders to address any specific cleaning requests or concerns.
• Report any maintenance, pest control, contamination issues or safety hazards to Shift Team Leaders.
• Complete hygiene records, checklists, and cleaning logs accurately and on time.
• Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) for cleaning and sanitation.
• Ensure compliance with health & safety, food hygiene, and COSHH regulations at all times.
• Participate in hygiene audits and contribute to continuous improvement in cleaning standards.
• Wear and maintain correct PPE at all times while on duty.
• Work independently or as part of a team to meet cleaning schedules and deadlines.
• Ensure all cleaning is to very high standard.
• Be flexible and provide cover at the Culpitt site in Ashington, as and when required.

Requirements:

• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision or within a team.
• Good time management skills to complete tasks efficiently.
• Attention to detail and a proactive approach to tasks.
• Previous cleaning experience in a food manufacturing or processing facility (preferred).
• Knowledge of HACCP, GMP, and food safety practices (training will be provided).
• Basic literacy and numeracy - ability to read/write and follow safety instructions and hygiene protocols.
• Physically fit – able to lift, carry, bend, and stand for extended periods.
