This is a full time position, 37.5 hours a week, over 4 days, Monday to Friday, and the chance to work occasional Saturdays if you want to.

We are a very family orientated unit, supporting each other as the need arises.

Our shifts are 7:30-18:00, 3 days a week with a short day of 7:30-15:30, but are happy to discuss other shift options, to fit around child care.

We are able to offer a full and varied Ophthalmic Outpatient service. We have a variety of Nurse led clinics as well as offering Diagnostics and support to our Consultants, Fellows and Allied Professionals within the department.

We are now looking to grow that service, with additional Clinician clinics and potentially more Nurse led clinics.

You will gain skills in the use of a variety of Diagnostic machines.

Assist with both Clinician and Nurse led clinics.

The successful candidate will be motivated and enthusiastic to learn.

Manage a varied and interesting caseload in Diagnostics.

Instinctively meet the needs of patients and their families, offering comfort and reassurance.

Run visual acuity and eye pressure checks.

Complete post-operative checks .

Assist with minor surgeries and specialist treatments.

Run a wide variety of diagnostic tests, including OCT, Pentacam, Visual Fields. IOL.

Assist with Pre assessment, ECG’s and Phlebotomy and assess Local Anaesthetic questionnaire’s

Cover and triage the SOS line with support of the on call Doctors.
