Job Description:

As a Hospitality Supervisor at Sodexo at Garrett's Clubhouse, Queen's Ave, Aldershot GU11 2JL, you’ll play a key role in delivering a high-quality catering and front-of-house service that meets the standards of Sodexo, the Ministry of Defence, and our customers. You will support the day-to-day running of hospitality operations, ensuring excellent presentation, service delivery, and customer care. Leading by example, you will supervise and motivate the front-of-house team, maintain a safe and compliant working environment, and support staff training and development as directed by the line manager.

What you’ll do:

  • Promote and enforce health and safety practices—be proactive about spotting and reporting potential hazards to keep everyone safe.
  • Conduct regular safety walks to identify and address any risks.
  • Allocate daily duties and organise front-of-house operations to ensure smooth and efficient service flow.
  • Oversee hygiene routines, cleaning schedules, and the correct use of equipment, materials, and chemicals.
  • Support service delivery by assisting with food service or minor preparation tasks when needed.
  • Monitor cash handling processes, including till operation, floats, pricing accuracy, and compliance with procedures.
  • Lead daily briefings and weekly team huddles to keep communication clear and consistent.
  • Address customer queries and concerns professionally, escalating issues to management when required.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance the overall customer journey.

What you bring:

  • Experience in a similar role, with knowledge of catering operations and some supervisory or team leadership experience.
  • Experience in hospitality (hotel, bar, or restaurant) is a plus.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to motivate and lead a team effectively.
  • Comfort with working at a fast pace and adapting to changing situations.
  • A collaborative mindset and the ability to communicate well with senior management.
  • Basic Food Hygiene, HASAW, and COSHH certification (or willingness to complete).
  • Ability to support staff development through coaching, training, and guidance.
