Our client, a respected educational institution in Stratford, is currently seeking a dedicated and passionate Full-time SEND Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team. This exciting opportunity offers a competitive salary range of £82.50 to £100 per day, depending on experience and qualifications.
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) to reach their full potential. Working closely with the teaching staff, you will provide individualised support and guidance to help students overcome barriers to learning and develop their skills and confidence.
Key responsibilities of the SEND Teaching Assistant role include:
- Collaborating with teachers to create and implement personalised learning plans for SEND students
- Providing one-to-one and small group support to help students access the curriculum and engage in learning activities
- Adapting teaching materials and resources to meet the specific needs of SEND students
- Monitoring and recording student progress and providing regular feedback to teachers and parents
- Assisting with the development of social, emotional, and behavioural skills through positive reinforcement and role modelling
- Supporting students during break times and extracurricular activities to promote inclusion and social integration
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- A genuine passion for working with children and young people with SEND
- Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role supporting SEND students
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents
- A patient, empathetic, and non-judgmental approach to working with students with diverse needs
- Good organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and work effectively under pressure
- Proficiency in using technology to support learning, such as interactive whiteboards and educational software
- A relevant qualification in education, childcare, or a related field (desirable)
