- Implement individual learning plans and behaviour management strategies tailored to the student's needs.
- Provide feedback to teachers and other professionals about the student's progress, challenges, and achievements.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive environment to help the student succeed.
- Support the student with personal care or other specific needs, as required.
- Work collaboratively with other teaching assistants, teachers, and external agencies to ensure the student's needs are met.
- Maintain high standards of behaviour and contribute to a safe and respectful learning environment.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Previous experience working with children or young people with special educational needs, particularly Autism, ADHD, and SEMH (desirable but not essential).
- A calm, patient, and flexible approach, with the ability to adapt to individual student needs.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
- A proactive attitude and a genuine passion for supporting young people with additional needs.
- Experience in implementing behaviour management strategies and supporting students' emotional and social development (desirable).
- An understanding of the challenges faced by children with Autism, ADHD, and SEMH and a commitment to helping them overcome these challenges.
- A willingness to engage in professional development and training.
What We Offer:
- A competitive daily rate of £95 to £110, based on experience.
- A supportive, welcoming, and inclusive school environment.
- Opportunities for professional development and further training.
- The chance to make a significant, positive impact on the life of a student with special educational needs.
- The possibility of the role becoming permanent after a successful probation period.
- Trial days available to experience the school and role before committing.
