ABOUT CAUDWELL YOUTH’S FUNDRAISING
Caudwell Youth is a dynamic new charity which has just celebrated its third birthday.
We have a compelling fundraising proposition. We were founded by billionaire philanthropist John Caudwell, who has pledged to match all donations and fundraising at 33%. Our mentoring service is delivering exceptional outcomes for young people and we are ambitious for the future.
This is a crucial time for Caudwell Youth’s fundraising function, as we are set to embark on a new strategy for national growth in the new year. For the financial year just gone, grant income accounted for around 28% of our fundraising revenue.
Alongside this, our income is currently made up from diverse funding streams including major donor support, corporate partnerships, individual giving and challenge fundraising, and public sector funding.
Our aim is to grow our charity sustainably, while continuing to meet the evolving needs of at-risk young people in ways that are effective and life-changing. This role will be a key part of that journey.
We are looking for an experienced grants and trusts fundraiser who can hit the ground running, both in solidifying and owning our valuable relationships with existing grant and trust fundraisers and in exploring new opportunities.
PURPOSE OF ROLE
The role of Senior Fundraiser (Grants and Impact) will lead Caudwell Youth’s grants and trusts fundraising function.
This is a critical part of our overall fundraising work, last financial year comprising around 28% of our income, and is central to the charity’s sustainability and future growth development.
You will also lead on the evaluation of our service impact across the organisation, gathering, analysing and presenting data to illustrate the valuable outcomes our services have for at-risk young people.
You will be a key team member in a dynamic and growing organisation and will help ensure the charity achieves its aims and objectives and fulfils its fundraising plan effectively.
KEY DUTIES
In this role:
-You will carry out a broad range of activities relating to your areas of work.
-Your work is likely to influence and have an impact beyond your immediate team.
-While receiving support from your line manager, you will make judgements and establish your own plans.
-Your work may have supervised named legal responsibilities and accountabilities.
-Work can often be fast-paced, with the need to juggle multiple competing deadlines and pivot where necessary depending on the immediate opportunities available.
Grants and trusts fundraising:
-Contribute to the charity’s fundraising strategy, developing and delivering the grants and trusts strategy with support from the Fundraising Director
-Develop and deliver the grants funding pipeline, overseeing research, identification of opportunities and the development and submission of applications in line with the charity’s aims and objectives.
-Complete all monitoring, evaluation and impact reporting required by grant funders, working in partnership with our wider operations team to secure data and case studies where required and ensuring we meet all funder deadlines and requirements.
