We are seeking a motivated and experienced Nurse to join our dynamic Surgical/Elective team. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled nurse to contribute to the delivery of high-quality, patient-centred care within a fast-paced and evolving environment.
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting elective surgical pathways, ensuring safe and effective care from pre-operative assessment through to discharge. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care, lead on clinical decision-making, and support junior staff in their development.
This role requires excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills, as well as a strong clinical background in surgical nursing. You will be expected to demonstrate initiative, uphold professional standards, and contribute to service improvement.
If you are passionate about surgical care and looking to take the next step in your nursing career, we would love to hear from you.
• Provide high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to patients undergoing elective surgical procedures.
• Act as a clinical leader within the team, supporting junior staff and promoting best practice.
• Coordinate patient care across the surgical pathway, including pre-operative assessment, intra-operative support, and post-operative recovery.
• Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure safe and effective discharge planning.
• Participate in audits, quality improvement initiatives, and service development projects.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in line with Trust policies and NMC standards.
• Support the induction, training, and supervision of new and junior staff.
• Respond to clinical emergencies and escalate concerns appropriately.
• Promote a culture of safety, compassion, and continuous learning within the team.
