***HGV CLASS 1 SHUNTER WANTED***
Here at The Best Connection we are looking for an experienced Class 1 shunter driver to join our client based in Hedge End. This role is ongoing during the peak period.
Salary - £19.08 per hour
Location - Hedge End
Start Time - 00:00am-08:00am
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
- Safely shunting Class 1 vehicles and trailers around the depot yard
- Working closely with warehouse and transport teams to ensure smooth trailer movements
- Vehicle checks before and after every shift
- Safely connect and disconnect cabs and trailers
- Ensure trailers are parked and positioned safely
- Report any defects or damage immediately to the transport office
WHAT IS REQUIRED:
- Full UK HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence
- Valid CPC & Digi card
- Class 1 experience
- Previous yard shunting experience
- Ability to manoeuvre large vehicles safely in confined spaces
- Strong communication skills
- Excellent numeracy and literacy skills
- Work 5 out of 7 nights a week
- Happy to work nights
- On-site parking
