About the Role

We’re looking for proactive, person-centred Support Workers to join the team at The Green, a vibrant supported living-style setting within Ravenswood Village. You’ll support adults with varying levels of independence to live with confidence, dignity and connection.

This is a fantastic opportunity if you enjoy enabling people to do things for themselves and take pride in delivering consistent, empowering support.

About Norwood

Founded in 1795, Norwood is the oldest Jewish charity in the UK. We support and empower neurodiverse children and their families and people with neurodevelopmental disabilities to live their best lives.

At Norwood, you’ll make a real difference every day. You’ll be part of a supportive and inclusive team, guided by values of kindness, respect, empowerment and belonging. We invest in your growth, care about your wellbeing, and give you the pride of knowing your work changes lives.

About The Green

The Green is a spacious, single-level home set around a green courtyard on the Ravenswood Estate, supporting eleven adults aged 30s to 70s with mild to severe neurodevelopmental disabilities, including learning disabilities, autism, and additional needs such as epilepsy and mental health conditions.

The setting includes 13 self-contained flats, each with a bedroom, bathroom and drink-making facilities, centred around a communal hub with kitchen, lounges, dining area, laundry and TV spaces. Residents hold keys to their own flats and are supported to maintain as much independence as possible.

People we support communicate in various ways, including spoken language, Makaton, PECS, and objects of reference. Several individuals have Positive Behaviour Support Plans, which you’ll follow with consistency and respect.

Your Day-to-Day

Your role will be varied and active. You’ll:
• Support people with cooking, cleaning, and daily routines in their own flats
• Encourage and enable independence through consistent support
• Assist with personal care and medication where needed
• Support social activities like cycling, walking, shopping, volunteering at the stables, music, and film nights
• Promote emotional wellbeing through consistent communication and support
• Be part of a team that values trust, respect and choice

Experience, Qualifications & Training

Essential:
• Experience supporting adults with learning disabilities or autism
• Confidence in promoting independent living and following support plans
• Able to commit to full-time hours, including weekends

Desirable:
• Experience with epilepsy or mental health support
• Positive Behaviour Support or Active Support training
• Full, clean UK driving licence

We also welcome people new to care with the right attitude. You’ll be given a full induction, regular supervision, and development opportunities.
