HMPPS Band 7 - Capability & Engagement Manager
Directorate: Directorate of Security - RaCU
Post Type / Duration: Loan/Secondment/Fixed Term – 2 years.
We are pleased to offer a brand-new opportunity for a Capability Manager to join the Personnel Security Countermeasures (PSC) Team on an initial two-year posting. This newly created post supports a rapidly expanding vetting function and presents an exciting opportunity to bring creativity, strategic thinking, and leadership to the development of professional capability across PSC. The PSC Team provides the first line of defence against personnel security risks entering the organisation, delivering robust and professional vetting services across HMPPS.
The successful candidate will lead the design and implementation of a team-wide capability strategy, develop a clear and engaging communications approach for both internal audiences and wider stakeholders, and support key engagement activity linked to the rollout of the Routine and Responsive Vetting (RRV) programme.
We are looking for someone who is forward-thinking, innovative, and passionate about professional development, having a strong understanding of how learning theories can inform effective capability planning would be advantageous. The role requires someone who can work independently as well as collaboratively within a geographically dispersed team, and who is confident engaging with a wide range of stakeholders, including senior leaders, across HMPPS. Some travel to HMPPS sites will be required.
This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of personnel security capability in a high-impact area of work.
