As a Switchboard/Reception Operator, you will provide an efficient and responsive service, maintaining a courteous and professional approach at all times while on Trust premises.
In this role, you will carry out duties to ensure the delivery of an effective and well-managed service. All work must be completed in accordance with health, safety, security, and Company and Trust policies and procedures.
The Role
Answer calls and face-to-face queries promptly and politely, directing callers and visitors to the correct department and completing records as required.
Operate internal and external bleep and radio paging systems, including programming new pagers, issuing batteries, and testing equipment.
Support the efficient operation of the department by maintaining contact details, bleep and on-call lists, and managing ID cards and keys.
Participate in system maintenance, ensuring all calls and tasks are completed in line with Company and Trust policies.
Distribute calls and tasks efficiently to the appropriate person or department.
Follow procedures during major incidents, including bomb threats, fires, cardiac arrests, and other emergencies, in line with Trust and Company guidelines.
Maintain confidentiality, privacy, and dignity at all times, in accordance with the Data Protection Act and Company and Trust policies.
About You
Operate all mechanical and electrical equipment safely and correctly, following training and approved methods.
Maintain a clean, neat, and professional appearance, complying with Company and Trust uniform, hand care, and hygiene standards.
Participate in team meetings, training, performance reviews, return-to-work discussions, and cooperate with accident or other investigations as required.
Identify personal development and training needs and attend agreed training programmes.
