We’re looking for an Assistant Store Manager who’s ready to roll up their sleeves, inspire their team, and help drive our Crawley store to success. In this role, you’re not just supporting the store – you’re actively shaping its culture, performance, and customer experience, while building your own path to Store Manager.
Why this role is exciting
No two days are the same. One minute you’ll be coaching your team to deliver outstanding service, the next you’ll be helping customers bring their design ideas to life. You’ll get hands-on with merchandising, stock, and the occasional heavy lifting – but you’ll also keep commercial focus sharp, maximise sales, and step up confidently when the Store Manager is away.
This role is the perfect stepping stone to Store Manager – we’ll support your journey with structured training, ongoing development, and real career opportunities.
What you’ll do
• Lead, coach, and motivate your team to deliver outstanding service
• Drive sales, profitability, and customer satisfaction
• Keep the store running smoothly – from operations to stock management
• Build strong relationships with both retail and trade customers
• Step up in the Store Manager’s absence with confidence and integrity
• Ensure Health & Safety compliance to keep colleagues and customers safe
• Bring creativity and energy to make the store a place people love to visit
Who you are
• Experienced in retail with at least 2 years in a supervisory role
• A natural coach and motivator who leads by example
• Passionate about sales, service excellence, and team development
• Commercially aware and confident in decision-making
• Organised, solutions-focused, and calm under pressure
• Positive, resilient approachable – able to inspire colleagues & customers alike
• Flexible, independent, and ready to work weekends
• Physically fit to handle manual tasks and lifting up to 25kg

• Salary up to £26,000 + store bonus scheme (average annual bonus ~£2,000)
