What’s in it for you?

Join a well-established and friendly local firm, founded in 1955 and with over 65 years’ experience acting for both individuals and businesses in property, private client and non-contentious matters.

This is your chance to play a key role in managing their day-to-day financial operations while working in a supportive, informal yet professional environment. The firm offers:

• Hybrid working option after 3 months onsite (initially fully office-based)
• 28 days holiday (including bank/public holidays) pro-rata for part-time
• Enhanced sick pay, a contributory pension scheme, and an employee assistance programme
• Bright Exchange access, company events and Christmas closure

Are you the right person for the job?

You’ll be a confident, detail-focused accounts professional who enjoys variety and working closely with colleagues. Prior accounts experience is essential, and legal sector experience is a bonus – but if you have strong financial skills and a willingness to learn the Solicitors’ Accounts Rules, training will be provided.

You’ll also need to be:

• Organised, accurate, and adaptable
• A confident communicator with banks, suppliers, and team members
• A strong team player who’s happy to “get stuck in”
• Proficient with Excel and general accounting software (Access Legal training provided)

What will your role look like?

As a Legal Accounts Manager, you’ll ensure the firm’s financial operations run smoothly and compliantly, supporting both accounts and office management duties.

Your typical week will include:

• Managing multiple ledgers and accounts (client, conveyancing, office, savings)
• Carrying out daily reconciliations and maintaining accurate records
• Processing client payments, receipts, bills, and supplier invoices
• Entering payroll data into ledgers (no end-to-end payroll management)
• Liaising with fee earners, partners, banks, and external accountants
• Assisting with general office admin and utilities management
• Month-end reconciliation
