Role Overview
As a Lead Water Hygiene Engineer, you will play a vital role in delivering a broad range of water hygiene and treatment services. This hands-on position involves overseeing and completing planned preventative maintenance (PPM), system dosing, monitoring, inspections, and remedial works. You will also support the training and development of junior engineers, maintain strong client relationships, and ensure compliance with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:
• Carry out routine water hygiene and treatment tasks, including:
o Temperature monitoring and flushing
o Microbiological and chemical sampling
o CWST and TMV inspections and servicing
o Calorifier inspections, blowdowns, and cleaning
o Showerhead descaling and chlorination
o Cooling tower cleaning and disinfection
o Chlorination of cold-water storage tanks and domestic systems
o Closed system chemical and bacteriological testing/treatment
• Ensure all works comply with relevant standards (e.g. HSG274 Parts 1–3, ACOP L8, BS8558, BS7593, BSRIA)
• Organise all tools, materials, and documentation required for site visits
• Maintain and submit accurate job records and paperwork promptly to the office
• Communicate effectively with clients, site engineers, subcontractors, and office staff
• Report any site delays or issues that may impact cost or delivery
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of company vehicle (if applicable)
• Support the onboarding and progression of junior engineers
• Adhere to all company and site-specific health and safety policies and risk assessments
• Undertake additional tasks as required by senior management, within competency.

About You:
• Full UK Driving License (Desirable)
• Background in Water Treatment / Water Hygiene (with some plumbing experience preferred)
• Self-motivated, reliable, and well-organised
• Able to manage workloads independently and within a team
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong attention to detail and high standards of workmanship
• Numerate and confident in completing records and reports
• Professional, presentable, and client-focused
• Flexible and positive attitude with a willingness to learn
