Cringleford Prep is looking for a committed Apprentice Classroom Assistant to join our team and support pupils’ learning and development-including those with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and English as an Additional Language (EAL).
This Level 3 apprenticeship offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience, achieve a nationally recognized qualification, and make a real difference in the lives of young learners. More information can be found on gov.uk.

- Work with pupils in one-to-one and small group settings
- Assist in whole-class lessons
- Collaborate effectively with teachers and staff
- Take initiative when appropriate while following teacher guidance

What You’ll Be Doing
- Provide individual and small-group support to pupils, including those with SEN and EAL needs
- Assist in delivering structured learning programmes, such as Read Write Inc and other targeted interventions
- Promote positive behaviour and contribute to a supportive classroom environment
- Help prepare classrooms, create resources, and facilitate engaging learning activities
- Accompany pupils on school trips and offer support during break and lunch times
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff and safeguarding leads to ensure pupil wellbeing

Essential:
- Achieved minimum English and Maths level 1, ideally level 2 in Mathematics and English
- General understanding of National Curriculum and other basic learning programmes
- Ability to use ICT effectively to support learning
- Ability to relate well to children and adults
- Experience of working with or caring for children of relevant age
Desirable:
- Completion of DfES Teacher Assistant Induction Programme or equivalent experience
- First Aid training
- Experience of using PiXL therapies
