Job Specification
We are seeking to appoint a passionate, creative and innovative KS1 teacher to join our unique village school. If you are an excellent practitioner with a strong drive to inspire children so that they achieve their full potential, then this could be an exciting opportunity for you.
The position would be most suited to those in the early stages of their career. Applicants should be confident in their ability to deliver consistently good and outstanding lessons with an honest desire to have a positive impact upon pupil achievement and enjoyment.
We offer well behaved, enthusiastic children, as well as supportive staff, governors and parents. There will also be excellent opportunities for professional development within our small team.
Our school’s curriculum has been designed to enable children to think for themselves and to develop a range of skills including problem solving, teamwork and creative thinking. We have a strong philosophy for empowering young people whilst making learning vibrant, engaging and purposeful. Visits to the school to meet the staff and pupils are encouraged, however we will also endeavour to make use of online meetings; we encourage you to look at our school website and Facebook page to understand how we enrich the learning experiences of our pupils.
We welcome candidates who:
• have experience teaching mixed aged classes and across key stages.
• have a firm understanding of teaching, learning and assessment in the primary phases, including a secure knowledge of the Primary National curriculum
• provide a stimulating classroom environment and use of the outdoor areas.
• have very high expectations of their teaching, pupilachievement and behaviour
• want to develop their teaching in new and exciting ways
• ensure that planning, preparation, recording, assessment and reporting meet the varying learning and social needs of the class
• maintain the positive ethos and core values of the school, both inside and outside the classroom
• put children first and are passionate about learning and pedagogy
• understand the importance of ‘bringing the curriculum to life’ to provide enriching learning opportunities across all subject areas – especially English and Mathematics.
