The Mental Health Division of Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust comprises of three directorates; Adult Mental Health, Mental Health Services for Older People and Specialist Services. An opportunity has arisen for a Band 3 Healthcare Assistant to work within the Horizon Day Services at Highbury Hospital, Bulwell, Nottingham.
The role will require an individual with the ability to work effectively under the direction and leadership from a registered professional in the provision of care to a specific patient group within the directorate
Assisting with all the activates of daily living, addressing the physical and mental health care needs of patients - promoting individual health and wellbeing.
Undertake, record and report clinical observations as directed by the registered professional.
Assist in the activities for the patient within the environment which involve accompanying/escorting patients outside the ward environment.
To maintain accurate timely and relevant clinical records both written and computerised. To maintain the safe custody of healthcare records.
To treat the patients as individuals and enable them to achieve maximum independence.
To undertake any other duties that would be reasonable expectation of the role.
A full UK driving licence and vehicle for business use is required for this post; however reasonable adjustments will be made for disabled individuals in line with the Equality Act 2010.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated healthcare assistant to join our established team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced healthcare assistant who has an interest in working within an Intellectual Disability day centre setting.
You will be required to have an NVQ 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent experience. You will need to demonstrate an ability to motivate the team, show initiative, work as part of a team alongside a ward based Multi-Disciplinary Team working under the direction of a registered nurse.
You will need planning and organisational skills to organise your day to day work tasks or activities to deliver care within the parameters of the patients care plan you will liaise closely with other health and social care professionals as well as with patients’ family and carers, therefore excellent communication skills are essential. Please note that this post does not meet the pay level required for a Skilled Worker Visa.
Successful applicants with no prior NHS experience would normally be placed at the bottom of the band in line with Agenda for Change. This salary is below the minimum salary required for sponsorship for a Skilled Worker / Health & Care visa. In these circumstances the Trust would not, therefore, be able to sponsor for a Skilled Worker / Health & Care visa.

Please note applicants will be required to pay for their DBS check. Costs are deducted from salary following appointment. The cost of the DBS application is £26.40 (standard) or £54.40 (enhanced), this cost will be deducted from your salary over the first 2 months of employment.
