Senior Lecturer in Business and Academic Partnership Lead
Grade 9 (£58,225.91 - £67,468.52)
Full Time, 35 hours per week
Abertay is a modern university with a global outlook, rooted in its local and national communities. We have made our mark with high quality, well-directed teaching and research, and a stimulating and enriching experience for our students.
Dundee Business School is one of four Departments within the Faculty of Design, Informatics and Business (DIB). The Faculty was formed in August 2024 with Dundee Business School joining three existing Departments: Games and Arts, Game Technology and Mathematics, and Cybersecurity. The Faculty is the home of Abertay’s degree programmes in law, accounting and finance, business and marketing, cybersecurity, applied computer science, computer games and digital arts. Abertay was the first University in the world to offer degrees in Computer Games Technology and Ethical Hacking, and we recognised as leaders internationally in games and nationally in cybersecurity. With the addition of Dundee Business School into the Faculty, we are now extending our academic team to develop our national and international standing.
The University now seeks to appoint a Lecturer in Business
Reporting to the Head of Dundee Business School, you will contribute to the excellent teaching experience and impactful research and knowledge exchange within the business subject area. This role is open to any single and/or combination of business subjects. In addition to our current disciplines, we are open to applicants in other areas such as: digital transformation, operations & logistics, innovation, project management, international business & entrepreneurship.
A particular feature of this role is to work with the Head of Dundee Business School in relation to Academic Partnerships. The Dundee Business School is spearheading a substantial growth in transnational education (TNE) operations. The role holder will work closely with the International Recruitment and Partnerships Office to lead the coordination and operational oversight of Dundee Business School TNE activities. We are currently doubling the number of partners we work with, and so we are keen to find a candidate who can help us keep organised and ensure quality assurance in this complex working space.
The role requires a
• Persuasive communicator & skilled influencer — builds trust with partner institutions and internal teams; secures buy-in to meet timescales.
• Meticulous organiser with delivery discipline — plans backwards, tracks actions, and closes loops; thrives amid multiple partners/time zones.
• Quality-assurance minded — proactive about academic standards, assessment integrity, and collaborative-provision processes; flags risks early.
• Diplomatic and culturally intelligent — reads context, adapts style, and handles sensitive conversations with tact.
• Problem solver under pressure — stays calm, prioritises effectively, and resolves issues fast (from timetables to external examiner actions).
• Clear, student-centred educator — inclusive pedagogy for diverse/TNE cohorts; gives developmental feedback and maintains standards.
• Project management aware — applies project management habits (risk logs, RAID, sprints) to keep multi-site delivery on track.
• Resilient, adaptable, and travel-ready — comfortable with changing regulations, partner cycles, and occasional out-of-hours coordination.
Please note that we will only accept applications through our online recruitment system.
