As we experience rapid growth, we are seeking a passionate NPD Technologist to join our dynamic team.
About the Role
As an NPD Technologist, you will play a pivotal role in developing, testing, and launching new beverage products. Reporting to the NPD Quality Engineer, you will support the innovation pipeline by matching flavours to customer briefs, validating new ingredients, and preparing commercial samples. Your expertise will enhance our product development processes while working within a fast-paced laboratory and manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Taking ownership of projects from recipe conception through to sample creation.
Follow current SOPs covering all aspects of development and analysis, where applicable.
Build and maintain excellent working knowledge of any new technologies and industry standards.
Provide support to our sales team in answering technical enquiries as required.
Working with manufacturing to ensure that new products follow clear controls and processes, to ensure a right first-time approach.
Coordinate nutritional and shelf-life trials from new or current recipes.
Using flavour combinations that coincide with cost constraints, legalities and match the customer specification.
Responsible for running validations of new ingredients and experiments on new and current ingredients ensuring the requirements of study protocols are met.
Preparing samples in support of commercial adventures and to meet customer expectations.
Working with suppliers to choose materials and ingredients, ensuring cost effective solutions for customer and company.
What You’ll Need to Succeed:
A proactive attitude to problem solving
A keen interest in beverages and new concepts in beverage manufacture
A knowledge of flavours and flavour application is essential
A food related degree or certification
Experience in a laboratory environment
The ability to constructively challenge current processes
Knowledge of GMP principles
A food safety and hygiene qualification at level 2/3
An ability to work within a busy manufacturing environment
