A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF
I am a 60 year old lady living in the Pontypridd area. I am bubbly, friendly, articulate and considerate. I like watching television and films, particularly romcoms such as Love Actually, and have a very eclectic taste in music. I really enjoy trips to the cinema. I also like reading and going out for coffee.
I have Bipolar disorder but am currently experiencing improved mental health. I am very chatty and outgoing, and wouldn’t want my mental health to define me as a person.
I’m very sociable and like having company, I’m a good communicator and have a great sense of humour. I’m looking to recruit someone down to earth, with similar interests, who I can talk to, get on with and go out with to do things I enjoy.
At present, I need a wheelchair because of my arthritis in my knees and bad back, I use a wheeled walker support trolley around my flat, and I am able to transfer to a vehicle for transporting purposes.
PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The purpose of the job is to encourage me to get out and about socially, taking part in various activities which I enjoy, whilst boosting my confidence and increasing my independence.
I also would require assistance with my appointments, which I mostly have in advance.
RATE OF PAY
£13.25 per hour and double pay on bank holidays, plus mileage where applicable
HOURS OF WORK
8 hours per week, to be worked over 2 or 4 days. This could change if I have appointments which I will give you notice for.
TASKS CAN INCLUDE
To accompany me when out doing things I enjoy – i.e getting some fresh air, cinema, shopping, going for a coffee
To encourage me to try new things
Drive me to any medical appointments
TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED

ABOUT THE JOB
This position is subject to satisfactory references and a DBS Disclosure (Police Check), which must be completed prior to the commencement of employment. The cost of this check will be covered by the Local Authority.
All necessary checks will be conducted to verify that any candidate has the legal right to work in the UK before employment begins.
Although this is a part-time role, it is a legitimate position requiring the submission of a National Insurance number. Employment will commence under an initial trial period.
Wages will be paid on a four-weekly basis and appropriate holiday pay will be provided.
