A well-established civil and structural engineering consultancy with a strong portfolio across residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments is seeking a Civil Engineer with 3–7 years’ UK experience to join their Manchester team. This is a great opportunity to take on a key role in delivering infrastructure design projects within a supportive and forward-thinking environment.

The Role

You’ll be involved in the design and coordination of civil engineering elements including highways, drainage, and external works. The position offers a strong balance of technical design, project delivery, and client interaction within a consultancy that values collaboration and professional growth.

Key Responsibilities

- Design and deliver highways, drainage, and external works for residential and commercial developments.
- Prepare and review designs in accordance with Section 278, 38, 104, and 106 agreements.
- Produce detailed designs and drawings using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and MicroDrainage (InfoDrainage).
- Undertake SuDS design, ground modelling, and earthworks analysis.
- Coordinate with project teams, local authorities, and clients to ensure technical accuracy and timely delivery.
- Support and mentor junior engineers and technicians where required.

Requirements

- Degree-qualified Civil Engineer (BEng/MEng or equivalent).
- 3–7 years’ experience in highways and drainage design within a UK consultancy.
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and MicroDrainage (InfoDrainage).
- Strong understanding of SuDS, DMRB, and local authority standards.
- Excellent communication and project coordination skills.
- Working toward or already holding IEng/CEng status is advantageous.
