Position: SEMH Teaching Assistant
Location: Leasowe
Pay Rate: £97 per day
Hours: 08:30 - 16:00, Full-Time, Long-Term
Chalk education are seeking a dedicated and resilient SEMH Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, including those with autism and very challenging behaviour, within a specialist school setting in Leasowe.
Alongside the staff you will be responsible for safeguarding and protecting the welfare of children and young people.
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with complex SEMH needs
- Assist in managing challenging behaviour in a calm, consistent and trauma-informed manner
- Support pupils with autism, helping them access learning and regulate emotions
- Work closely with the class teacher and wider support team
- Help create a safe, structured, and positive learning environment
Additional requirements:
o References confirming suitability for role
o Commitment to Safeguarding
o Enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service
o Eligibility to work in the UK
