Owen Payne Recruitment are recruiting for an experienced Factory Operative / Machine Operator to join a leading food manufacturing company based in Wolverhampton (WV5).
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established employer who truly values their staff, offers excellent training, and rewards hard work and reliability.
Key Responsibilities
• Set up production machinery correctly and safely before each run.
• Operate machines efficiently to meet daily production targets.
• Monitor equipment performance and carry out routine checks.
• Perform minor maintenance and adjustments to keep machines in good working order.
• Report and assist with breakdowns or faults promptly.
• Maintain accurate production and quality records.
• Ensure hygiene and safety standards are followed at all times.
• Work collaboratively with team members and shift engineers.
Ideal Candidate
• Previous experience working as a Machine Operator or Machine Setter, ideally within a food manufacturing environment.
• Mechanically minded with strong attention to detail.
• Confident using computers and production systems.
• Good communication skills (written and verbal).
• Able to work independently and handle pressure in a fast-paced setting.
• Reliable, punctual, and committed to maintaining high standards.

Pay and Hours
• Starting rate: £16.45 per hour
• Increased rate: £17.48 per hour after training completion
• Shift Pattern: 12-hour rotating shifts
2 days on → 1 day off → 2 nights on → 3 days off
Day Shift: 6am – 6pm
Night Shift: 6pm – 6am
